The above clips remind me of what a loss Darke was to Sky.

With regards next years competition, can I be selfish and ask that we do the first week of the FL season and start of the PL asap as I'll be away from late July for two weeks with no access to a computer

Don't know when casinoman (who is probably attending to his family) or jonboy will be back on but what can certainly be done is for the season to start at its normal time but with the match fixtures in advance. You can PM whoever is doing the comp and we'll post it for you.

I am sat watching Premier League Years 2007-08, with the Eduardo break, the Munich rememberance and such, and it really shows how much Sky's coverage missed Andy Gray, Ian Darke and Richard Keys last season.

Stelling, Jones and Chamberlain each did well covering the presenting role, but it isn't anywhere near to the same standard which is a shame.

Hopefully it will at least settle down with some regular slots for each presenter as has been reported by Sale in the Mail etc (and largely backed up by Ed Chamberlin's Twitter), and we'll get back some of the features we lost in the second half of last season. It won't be the same but at least will be an improvement.

I think the studio stuff will soon settle down and those who have left won't be missed as much, but think they will be missing a big-hitter of a co-commentator for some time. Hopefully they will at least stick with the competent ones rather than experimenting too much like we had at times last season.

What a great opening 10 minutes of commentary from Rob Stone and John Harkes on Vancouver vs. Man City.

Right off the bat Man City have "McGovern" on the pitch, Stone repeatedly refers to this "Korolov" guy, and then Harkes tells us US fans should remember Vladimir Weiss because Slovakia was in the USA's group in the last World Cup (it was Slovenia).

Perhaps my favorite quote was pre-match when Harkes and Stone were discussing Tevez's inevitable departure and then saying Yaya Toure needs to step up and score more.

EDIT: Ooooh even better. ESPN UK viewers are subject to a tie baseball game so it's not even airing right now.

Oh, and ESPN, I know the Liga Total Cup is a pre-season tournament, but could we have at least seen the trophy being lifted?

Anyone know who it is doing the commentary on the Manchester United tour games on MUTV? Not familiar with the commentary on there and watched a bit of the game last night.

Just watched Premier League Years 2010-11 today, think today is the first time its aired. The programme seems so poorly put together over previous years. The music seems to drown everything else out, including the commentary to the games shown. The news bits at the begining of each month are only sport related now, and not general news like previous years.

For anybody wondering, Andy Gray is heard on the programme so Sky aren't pretending like he never worked for them as some suggested with other programmes they have aired. No mention of the saga which led to their departure though.
