Commentators Thread Part 6

I'm not sure if there is a "world feed" for Olympic football. At least not for every game. In 2008 TSN showed a number of men's matches on delay as part of their primetime show. Commentary would come from various sources. Most were BBC, but I remember one had commentary from a New Zealand channel.

I can't imagine the BBC having commentary on every olympic football game. Hence why i asked about a world feed. Maybe the BBC will take another English speaking commentary for lesser games.

Dan O'Hagan will be commenting on Olympic games for Eurosport. Didn't realise they had rights!

Yep, they've always shown the Olympics, noy sure they will under the new deal though from 2014 as I think they're moving away from an EBU deal

TV team for football (from BBC website): Steve Bower, Mark Bright, Garth Crooks, Martin Fisher, Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson, Alistair Mann, Guy Mowbray, Jacqui Oatley, Jonathan Pearce, Jo Potter, John Roder, Robbie Savage, Sue Smith, Lucy Ward, Faye White, Steve Wilson

Eight commentators (assuming that JO is the only female lead commentator), so it's possible they could have them all covered

AFAIK, the BBC are producing the football, which means their commentators probably are the "world feed".

I wonder how difficult the commentators are finding it to not say "England" when referring to Team GB...

Thanks for that Mr Williams.

On a side note, nice feature (not really footy related but still) from Barry Davies http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/18851384

At least they won't have any Scots to blame when they crash out, though.

Garth Crooks has barely uttered a dozen words and I already want to punch my TV.

It's Gabby Logan with Robbie and Garth at the Riverside

JP and Bright are comms.

This is an utterly atrocious line up for this game. Savage apart, the rest are poor. Logan is OK I suppose.

Gabby Logan, for me, Is a top drawer presenter, Will always maintain she was given a raw deal by ITV. BBC I think under use her.

I tend to agree, she's in the 10pm slot on BBC Two and then after the news on BBC One, so fairly high profile.
