World Cup Football Commentary Copyright/Licensing

Hey guys,

I am looking to find some information regarding the copyright/licensing implications that may be involved with using past Football World Cup commentaries on a project of mine.

I own a small video production company and we have been tasked with producing a World Cup build-up/promotional video for a casino to help promote their deals and what games they'll be showing etc. It will be used on their website and on social media platforms.

We are planning on animating some classic world cup goals and want to use the original BBC/ITV commentary over the top of the animations, however, I have no idea what copyright/licensing issues may be involved and if it's even possible at all.

Any info you guys could give me regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

James Lewis

I think you're better off directly asking the BBC or ITV about that, more specifically the BBC I would say.
