The Exiled Wanderer - 13/7/2010 00:50
2008 - Unkle - Mozart's Symphony 41
2004 - Basement Jaxx ft Lisa Kekaula - Good Luck
2000 - Andrea Bocelli - Canto della Terra
1996 - The Eurovision theme?????

ITV
2008 - Nataha Marsh - Queen of the Night
2004 - Max Sedgley - Happy (Spiritual South Go Happy In Rio Remix)
2000 - ?
1996 - Jerusalem

Football League theme before 2009 - The Farm - All Together Now

Euro 96 on the Beeb was Ode To Joy, which it also used for Euro 92, and Anne Widdicombe slagged it off for not being English. Euro 2000 on ITV was Rondeau by Benjamin Britten, and in Euro 92, the majestic You Are The Number One.

Before Sky used All Together Now, which I seem to remember changed mid-season, they used Into The Valley by Skids, which was dead exciting, accompanying a frantic set of titles. They started using that when they got the rights back in 2002, because I remember The Guardian pointing out Charlton weren't even in the FootballLeague anymore.

Euro 2000 on ITV was Rondeau by Benjamin Britten, and in Euro 92, the majestic You Are The Number One.

For clarity, the You Are The Number One theme was by a group called Union, and was also used as the theme to ITV's regional and national Football League coverage between 1992 and 1997.

Its not to be confused with Little Britain by Dreadzone, which featured the lyric "You Are The Number One" at its crescendo, which was its successor as the theme tune to Football League Extra between 1997 and 2002.

Here's a challenge for you - anyone know what Sky Sports' original Football League theme tune was (the one they used between 1996 and 2001 until they lost the contract to ITV Digital) and/or what the final Football League Extra theme tune was, the one which was used between 2002 and 2004?

Dear me, I really should have re-read the list before posting. Thanks for alerting me to it, Exiled Wanderer.

I would love to be proved wrong, but I bet no-one can identify the other theme I requested above.

Black Grape - England's Irie was used between 1996 and 2000 then for the final season before losing FL rights to ITV Digital it was Primal Scream - Swastika Eyes.

The FLExtra theme between 2002 and 2004 was Space Raiders - Middlesboogie.

Seagull Mark - you are the top man! That is all.

I have been wondering what that particular piece of music was for the best part of eight years, felt it might be a big beat/Skint records tune but could never track it down. A spectacular find chap.

OK, what's the music with the trumpet used on the first goals round-up on MOTD2? Not the indie dirge they always use on the second round-up. Time was I used to know all these things...

I thought it was "Requiem for a Dream" by Clint Mansell at first (SSN theme between 2007 and 2009) but then it sounded different. And to be honest, I don't know what it is, sorry

Evening all, another quick music question...

What is this tune used during Setanta's build up to the 2009 FA Cup Final. I remember they also used it over their closing titles, and it's one of those you here all the time on ads and programmes, but wondered what it is called in the hope of downloading it (without the poemy thing on top)

Thanks

I've been looking for that one and continue to do so!

It has been (and probably still is) played at Villa Park about 5 mins before kickoff, then they use Escape by Craig Armstrong as they walk out
