To have a bit of fun, who do the forum think will end up as top scorer for this season?

The below assuming that no other transfers are made who could realistically be a contender. If they are: add them yourselves, obviously.

P.S. If supporters' bias could be kept out of the equation as much as possible, thanks.

Does pain me to say it, but I'll go for Rooney.

Last time the World Cup Finals were played, the man largely declared as responsible for England's exit went on to burst onto the scene, score 17 goals and effectively win the league for his club in the following season. Sadly however, Fabio Capello has long retired from playing.

Ah damn it, I was going to say Elmander and Blake will bag 40 goals between them...

I think it'll be Drogba. Proven record of scoring goals, plus he'll play most games whereas I think Tevez may get taken out of the team now and again as Man City have about 27 strikers.

Torres I don't see staying fit, Rooney and Bent may be there or thereabouts

Drogba. Won it last year with missing a month through African Nations. Torres big danger if stays fit. Rooney will be there or there abouts but its the Drog for me.

If Torres stays fit, and stays put, he'll win it.

Rooney has a bit more backup than last year, so given that Fergie can't help himself when it comes to changing the team, expect him to be rested a bit more often. I like the look of Hernandez, and he'll bag a few goals to take some of the pressure off Rooney.

Drogba will be up there, not convinced about Tevez, considering the number of strikers city either already have or are supposed to be after.

I'll take a punt on Liverpool's new doctor keeping Torres fit. If that happens, he'll win it.

Doesn't look like Rooney at the moment but it is the first weekend.

I would go with Drogba but Torres could be in with a shout if he stays fit.

I think Drogba will be top scorer especially as Chelsea are flying at the moment.
