Charles Sale thinks BT outbid Sky for 5 of the 6 packages in the first round of bidding in the latest tender. I thought highest bidder had to be accepted? Unless the Premier League wanted the games to remain with Sky?

It's funny how Charles Sale 'thinks'! Has he got any proof behind his facts at all?

Apparently Belgium v Scotland is on ESPN on 16th October.

Yet the BBC announced on 21 May they would show the four away matches not against Wales.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/18141696

Bit strange...not that it bothers me that much, since I have ESPN. Just means I'll need to play host to a couple of family members on the Tuesday as well as the preceding Friday!

As you've probably found out since this post both BBC Scotland AND ESPN will be showing the four other away games live.

Yea...weird. I've never known that to happen before.

I'll probably still watch on ESPN for HD and Derek Rae commentary, though.

Dont think it will be that long now that they will announce their football line up.

Article on the Telegraph website (may have been in yesterday's print edition) about BT and an interview with Marc Watson. Not too much detail but:

- There will be two channels, BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 2
- Looks like they will be available on satellite, and he certainly ruled out a scenario where people will have to switch to BT Vision/BT broadband to get the channels
- Still more content to come, rumoured to be tennis rights.

BBC Alba to show three live games from the SPL this season, and three more next. They've also extended their deal to show delayed coverage of matches through to the end of next season

BT Sport are set to be headquartered in what was the broadcast centre at the Olympic Park. The article seems to imply Premier League coverage will be hosted from there.

Thanks Cardio!

ITV will choose Man Utd (Regardless of who they play)

Then I'd imagine the Everton & Liverpool games

Then Swans/Arsenal and Brighton/Newcastle

Initial reaction is that Man Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton games will definitely be chosen. I suspect ITV will either go with the Man Utd or Liverpool game as their 1st pick - question is do you go with an Premier League clash that ought to be at least reasonably competitive, or a tie that seems to better reflect the spirit of the FA Cup but which might well be over long before full-time?

IN terms of the last match, Swansea V Arsenal and Southampton V Chelsea are possible as they would seem to showcase a weaker PL team hosting a superior one (plus Chelsea are the holders.) Yet I wouldn't regard them as being especially attractive prospects. Crystal Palace V Stoke, Crawley V Reading or Peterbrough V Norwich would look a decent bet to me as an ESPN 5th choice game with a lower league team at home to a Premier League side that potentially they could beat.
