I am in no way implying that I am "in charge", just some suggesstions

I just thought I'd see if people wanted different threads for the various commentaries, so for example:

Sky PL/CL comms
Sky FL comms
Sky SPL comms
Other Sky
BBC
ITV
ESPN
Europa League (combine ITV, ESPN and Five)

Or just have one thread for each broadcaster or threads for each competion (a PL thread, a CL thread, FL thread etc)

I think an idea would be to have a 'Commentary and Coverage' thread for each of the main broadcasters; Sky (maybe split this into PL, FL etc), ITV, BBC, Five, ESPN.

Then also have threads for TV rights deals, big tournaments like the WC and any specific big news like if a major comm switches network or anything like that.

Also, we should have a separate thread where people post the commentary/presenting teams as each game passes. With us now having space for articles on the front page I was thinking at the end of each week/month we could list who commentated on every game so we'd have easily accessible records, rather than trailing back through different threads.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll open a pre-seasons friendlies thread also I think.

Definitely Jon, we've got the 'Off Topic' forum where we can chat about on field matters and things like that: http://www.broadcasting.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/forum-view...

I've started a few threads so people can get a rough idea of what goes where. Any comments on Sky Sports commentators or their general match coverage (what presenter should do which games etc) goes in there, I've created threads for all the 5 football broadcasters.

dont want to be picky, but ive seen your seprate threads for all the channels. but on all of them, it says on all aspects of sports, so it not just football then, or do you just mean football.i dont want to be pickey with you, just want to get it clear in my head.

Apologies, I should have put 'football' in there somewhere. It's basically what was discussed in our old thread split up into different channels so things are easier to find.

It might be worth having a thread (or separate section of the forum) for non-football sports rights discussions etc.

I liked it the other way like on Digital Spy, where we just had one thread. I can see me losing interest having to check each indivdual thread for each seperate compeition.

Think it could get too confusing. All we need is a seperate one for the competitions, if thats what everyone wants.

Think i wil end up missing some of the posts. With it all on one, you never will!!

We're just testing things out at the moment, Homesdale. It will take some time before we settle on a permanent matter of handling the forums.

Hi Guys - I am now signed up here. I am in an agreement with Homesdale. lots of different threads would be confusing. One main one (with new ones every season) and a competition one I think would be sufficient.

What we could do is wait until everybody is here and then have a vote on which people would prefer, all in one thread or split up by topic.

Like SSR says it's a bit trial and error at present and we'll settle on whatever people are most happy with.

Yep. If you guys do want to do it DS style we (the mods) will move all of the threads into one gigantic thread like old times.

I think it will be easier in just one thread. Persnally i dont have the time to keep checking every thread and keep going backwards and forwards making sure i havent missed anything.

Also do you get email update's as to when the thread has had a reply?

You can get email updates if you wish. Just click 'Toggle e-mail notification' at the bottom of the page and that should do it I think.
