Channel 4 wins the rights to show the World Athletics Championships. This has been the BBC's domain for as long as I can remember. EDIT: Just seen in the article that it's been on the BBC since 1983, so before I was born

Sky have signed a last-minute deal to show the India v Australia test series, which starts this morning.

Sky deal is for all international cricket in India until 2013 - so covers the next two England tours to India:

Hopefully this means a return to the airwaves for Stuart Storey, who has been sadly omitted from the BBC team heading to Delhi.

OK, he'll be 71 by the time the Channel 4 deal runs out, but Peter Alliss is still going strong on the golf, so why not?

A slight headache for the BBC -- where on earth do they fit in the Ryder Cup highlights tomorrow?

Indeed - they better not scrap Masterchef to accommodate it!

For the Commonwealth Games (and all the different events there is) are all the commentators the BBC's? Some of the more minor events do they maybe use 'world feed' or other channels commentary? On things like gymnastics etc Heard basically all Australian commentators, just made me wondered.

NBA Europe series - LA Lakers v Minnesota - ESPN/NBA TV

Commentary from Mark Jones and Jon Barry. They were courtside for pre-game stuff

Haven't watched any coverage yet, but they certainly did that in the last Summer Olympics, they took commentary off Australian and NZ broadcasters. I imagine it's the same again

Without ever seeing their coverage, I would agree with that!

Nice to see ESPN going to the effort of sending a couple of comms over here for a few games that won't be shown for them in the states.

It's almost like a bit of a reversal of the Darke situation on the football.

Does anyone know if the Beeb has commentators out there for the Rugby? I have a funny feeling it could be like the IRB set up Nigel Starmer Smith and other's (Australia/NZ Comms) doing the 7's commentary...

Rugby is one of a very few things that will take any interest for me at the CWG's - Hope there are better crowds on Mon & Tue for it.

ESPN's latest Fan Forum survey confirms that they want to start showing tennis

They listed events and asked whether we would be likely to watch/subscribe for them - the events they listed were pretty minor, except for possibly ATP 1000 and Davis Cup. They also listed ATP 500, 250, and World Team Championships

A few interesting bits on TV Sports Markets - always frustrating as we can only see the headlines, but looks as if:

- La Liga likely to drop live weekly FTA match

- Champions League and Europa League rights auction from 2012/13 getting started in Italy

- NBA (in some form) returning to Sky

- Froch fight on Primetime TV

Per Charles Sale, Sky are looking for a rebate on their 2010/13 ECB rights deal due to no Stanford and no English equivalent of IPL.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1328943/CHARLES-SALE-Panor...

I wonder if this may be used as leverage for the next deal - ie Sky agrees to no rebate if ECB agrees to a new deal for 2014/17 for £x.
